Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo are just some of the many proposals coming from the greenest region of Europe and protected by Consorzio Tutela Vini d'Abruzzo. The territory of Abruzzo is naturally suited for viticulture, located between the Adriatic Sea and the massifs of Gran Sasso d'Italia and Majella. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is the most representative wine of the regional enological culture and it is qualified as one of the greatest Italian red wines. Of absolute importance is also the production of rose wines, which are able to combine structure and freshness, such as Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo. At the same time, the knowledge and the spreading of other autochthonous wines is increasing, in particular white wines. Trebbiano d'Abruzzo stands out, a white wine of great potentiality and versatility, so much it can be appreciated both young, in its pleasantness, and in its longer and more complex version. Besides Trebbiano, there is also a production of still white wines of great importance, such as Pecorino, which reaches expressions of great value capable of exalting its fruit and bouquet, as well as Passerina, Cococciola and Montonico. Among the most recent innovations, there is also the increasing success of a production of sparkling wines made from autochthonous grapes, mainly obtained with the Martinotti method, to which Abruzzo is dedicating great attention.
