Land, sweat, sacrifice, courage, ingenuity, tradition, nature: there is no precise moment in history in which the indissoluble bond between the countryside worked by man and what is necessary to produce "Chianti" wine has been shown. The origin of the concept "Chianti", even before the wine product, is lost in the night of time: a long and impervious path made of people, struggling cities, art and breathtaking views. From the ancient civilizations that inhabited this region, to the medieval times, to the Renaissance and the modern era, viticulture in Tuscany has never stopped. In 1927, a group of viticulturists established the "Consorzio del Vino Chianti", one of the first associations of wine producers in our country, with the mission of protecting and promoting Chianti D.O.C.G. wine "as it is known in Italy and abroad for its ancient tradition". Since 1932, the territory falling under the aegis of the Consortium has consisted of six provinces, dotted with cities of art and culture that are among the most beautiful in the world: Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Pisa, Pistoia and Prato. This "love story" between man and nature, now involves about 3,000 companies spread over an area of approximately 15,500 hectares, which each year expresses an average production of nearly 100 million bottles. You read that correctly: one hundred million bottles per year.
